CPD lecture – The why, what and how of caring for the chemo cancer patient
17th May 2018
Dovecote Veterinary Hospital is offering a free nurse based CPD lecture with Shirley van Lelyveld BVSc MSc (Clinical Oncology) DipECVIM-CA (oncology) MRCVS. The event is free, with buffet and refreshments included.
Tuesday 29 May 2018
Cancer is a very common diagnosis in the aging pet and owners hopes and expectations for their pets are high. Increasingly, they call upon us to offer treatment or palliative care for their furry family members. With this in mind, the veterinary team needs to know just what types of treatment can be offered and, importantly, health and safety implications of handling not only the cytotoxic drugs we use, but also the patients once they have been treated. Cancer care is not only about treating the tumour, but also the patient, taking into consideration the supportive care we can offer to improve the quality of life for pets with cancer.
